Mr. Hem Thel received his bachelor’s in the field of hotel and tourism management at Phnom Penh International University in 2015. Currently, he is pursuing his master’s degree in Khmer History at the Royal University of Phnom Penh. Besides that, he completed many training courses related to tourism in China, the Philippines, Japan, and Thailand.
After graduating, Mr. Hem Thel worked in the tourism sector as a tour guide who specializes in history for about 3 years. Then he volunteered as a translator in International NGOs- Iherb Open Space School and Habitat for Humanity Cambodia for 4 years. During these four years, he actively fulfilled his tasks and facilitated many international teams, and making them gain good memories about Cambodia. From 2018 until the present, he has worked for YMCA Cambodia as Global Alternative Tourism Program Manager. He undertakes many responsibilities as a project manager including planning, organizing, and managing the project as well as selecting all members. He mainly researches and selects homestay areas and places for tourism activities. Most importantly, he leads members’ training within the national and international events.
